September 2026 marks a special milestone: the very first issue of Story Quilt was published 10 years ago.

Over the past decade, hundreds of writers have shared their stories, poems, and essays with our community. Together, we’ve published 60 issues of creative work – all free to read online. It has been a joy to build this space where stories can find a home and readers can discover new voices.

But as you may know, Story Quilt is not a funded project. It takes many hours each month to keep it running – reviewing submissions, editing, adding images, publishing, and maintaining the website – along with ongoing expenses like domain renewals and hosting. We do this because we believe in the value of Story Quilt, but it is a volunteer effort.

As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, I’d like to invite you to consider making a donation as an anniversary gift to help keep Story Quilt going. Your support would make a real difference in covering costs and compensating us a little for the time and care we put into each issue.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us continue offering this free publication to writers and readers alike. The donation link is set to Canadian Dollars by default.

Just to be clear: this “donation” is a contribution to U-C WEBS, my company (www.u-cwebs.com), to keep working on the Story Quilt website. It is not a donation towards a charitable organization, and as such not eligible for a tax receipt.
